Coloradans do a lot of things well, and one of them is brewing craft beer. Colorado breweries like Oskar Blues, Great Divide Brewing and Breckenridge Brewery have made waves internationally in the beer industry. If you love craft beer, from both Colorado and across the nation, then you don’t want to miss the 7th annual Winter Park Beer Festival! On August 6, 2016, dozens of breweries will fill Hideaway Park, offering award-winning brews, accompanied by live music and food. It’s one of many Winter Park summer festivals and by far the hoppiest.

What to Do at the Winter Park Beer Festival

The gates open at noon on Saturday, August 6 for attendees who buy presale tickets, and 1 p.m. for anyone buying tickets day-of. According to the festival’s website, pre-sale ticketholders will enjoy special beer tastings during the festival’s first hour. The festival runs until 5 p.m., and last call is at 4:45 p.m.

The main attraction at the Winter Park Beer Festival is the beer. But this isn’t your average selection of brews; this festival is a beer connoisseur’s dream. Colorado breweries from Denver, Boulder and right here in Winter Park will be represented, as well as beer ambassadors from California, Washington, Utah, and Japan! Each brewery will have their beers available to sample. Try beers from Winter Park’s own Hideaway Park Brewery, San Diego-based Ballast Point, or Chicago’s Goose Island Beer Co. However, it’s the Colorado breweries that are in abundance, including Boulder Beer Company, Ska Brewing Company from Durango, and Left Hand Brewing Company from Longmont. Check out the full list of the breweries on the festival’s website.

Any good beer festival also features great food. Winter Park Beer Festival will feature food vendors onsite, so you can grab some grub to pair with your beers. This year, expect to find delicious local food from The Spot, Original Funky Fries, Chet’s Grill, Climax Jerky, Gonuts Eats & Treats, and more!

Last but not least, there’s the music! Three bands are booked for this year’s festival, and music will run from 12:15 to 4:45, according to the festival’s schedule. The bands will be announced soon, so keep an eye on Winter Park Beer Festival’s website for the names!

Tickets

Winter Park Beer Festival tickets are available in four options: General admission ($15), VIP Designated Driver ($30), Unlimited Tasting ($30), and VIP Experience ($70). VIP Experience ticketholders will receive a glass mug, VIP seating catered food, and other perks. It’s the best way to experience the festival! If you’re just there for the experience (or kind enough to drive a friend), the VIP Designated Driver ticket gets you great seating and a catered lunch. Visit the festival’s website for complete ticket information.
