With the ski resort closing and mud season upon us, it’s a nice diversion to start planning for a trip to the resort when it opens for the summer season on June 13th.  The Resort’s summer season goes from June 13th to September 9th.

Numerous activities, ranging from the wild to ‘family’ mild, are available to challenge all the members of your family or group.    From the longest Alpine Ride in Colorado (a wild, heart pumping 3,000 feet long), to the fun Human Maze, the challenging climbing wall, always fun mini golf; and, perhaps most popular of all, the many mountain bike trails that explore numerous peaks and valleys of the Resort.   The Resort is also rightly proud of its Trestle Bike Park which offers a challenging array of twists, jumps and plenty of testosterone driven free ride action.  They boast that it is ‘the fastest growing bike park in the US”.   The Park has added six new trails in the last two years  and, plans are set for more expansion over the next few years.  Obviously, the Trestle Ride Park is a great addition to the regions 600 miles of mountain trails.   All help the Valley’s fast growing reputation as a ‘must do’ mountain biker’s destination.

Getting up the mountain is a breeze for all the adventurous bikers, hikers and sight seers because the Zephyr Express chairlift runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  and, the Olympic Lift will go from 10:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  Both lifts run daily.   Also, you can stroll through the new Village with all its new shops.  Or, relax and enjoy the  Fraser River from the benches and patios that beckon.

Please be aware that while the Resort is closed rescue services are not provided.  In addition, they will be removing pine beetle killed trees throughout the summer season.  Therefore, they urge caution and to be aware of ongoing logging operations.  For more information you can visit the Resort’s website at www.skicolorado.com    Have a great Summer Season whatever you do!
