Are you dreaming of owning your own home and wondering how to get started? Not sure if you can qualify for a loan in today’s market? Grand County offers a first time home buyers class once a month. The workshop covers everything you need to know to purchase a home including how to determine if you can afford it, how to find a loan and how a Realtor can help guide you through the process.

You’ve probably heard about the $8000 tax credit newly extended by the Obama Administration but did you know there are several other down payment assistant and special loan programs available in the State of Colorado and in Grand County? By completing the class you’ll earn a certificate needed to qualify for down payment assistance and other special loan programs.

The class also includes a comprehensive workbook that will help you plan the home buying process. You can also qualify to receive a free copy of your credit report. Other topics covered include preparing for home ownership, shopping for a home, review of the Colorado State contract and an overview of the closing process.

I’ll be teaching the next class on December 14th at the Historic Church in Downtown Fraser from 5:30 to 9:30. If you’d like to attend the class but can’t make this one shoot me an email, jean@rewinterpark.com , and I’ll be happy to email you a copy of the 2010 schedule.
