1. Winter Park Mountain Biking 

Winter Park residents don’t have to go far to experience some of the best mountain biking destinations in the state. Here are 10 trails for a Winter Park mountain biking adventure that’s close to home!  

2. Buffalo Creek Trail System 

Colorado’s Front Range boasts several great trail systems. Buffalo Creek Trail System is one of the most popular! This recreation area features more than 50-miles of multi-use trails. 

3. Turquoise Lake Singletrack 

Spectacular views await at Turquoise Lake Singletrack. This 6.3-mile route takes riders along the northeast side of this high alpine lake, which tops out at an elevation of 10,016 feetBe sure to bring a camera along, you’re sure to want to stop and capture these views! 

4. Roosevelt National Forest 

Because the trails at Rocky Mountain National Park aren’t open for mountain biking, the trails at nearby Roosevelt National Forest are the next best thing! All the trail systems here are rated intermediate to difficult, so it’s a great place for seasoned mountain bikers to challenge their skills.

Lunch Loop Trails, located in Grand Junction, is one of the most well-known trail systems in the area. This technical trail system is demanding and features endless twists and turns. It’s a mountain biker’s dream! 

6. Monarch Crest Trail  

Gain more than 2,000 feet of vertical on the Monarch Crest TrailThis route is recommended for experienced riders due to the extreme elevation gain. Each pedal stroke requires a lot of effort, but your hard works pays off with great views. The landscape’s path shifts from paved to rocky, so mountain bikers must be equipped to adapt to this change on a dime! 

7. Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park 

Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park is a great place for mountain bikers of all skill levels. The park’s trail system features more than 30 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails that can be accessed via a lift system. Visitors can purchase a season pass for unlimited summer fun! The park also offers rental bikes.
