Wow here is a great update on the success of the BYOB CAST Challenge – the tallies for March and April are in and participating retailers tallied 41,048 plastic bags that did not make their way into circulation during those months. Pretty impressive numbers! In relation to the other participating communities, Winter Park, Fraser and Granby are looking great:

Aspen–21, 545
Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte–2,166
Estes Park–16,259
Grand Lake–809
Jackson Hole, WY–20,492
Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue ID–7,700
Park City, UT–50,304
Summit County (Dillon, Frisco, Silverthorne and Breckenridge)–94,820
Telluride/Mountain Village–9,556
Winter Park, Fraser and Granby–41,048

Other big news – the prize of $5,000 toward the purchase of solar panels for a local school has been doubled thanks to PCL Construction. We are now competing for $10,000 toward the purchase of solar panels for a local school – that equals the cost of a 1.5 Kw system.

Thanks again to everyone who has participated or supported the BYOB CAST Challenge efforts. Check our website  or the the town of Winter Park for updates as new tallies are entered:
