Did you know that July is a Blue Moon month? There are two astronomical definitions of a Blue Moon; both are a type of Full Moon. When the Moon very rarely actually looks blue, it’s because of a certain size dust particles in the atmosphere. The most common definition is “a second full moon in one calendar month”. We have a full moon now, on July 1st, and the second full moon will occur on Friday, July 31st. After this blue moon, the next one won’t occur until May 21, 2016.
The upcoming blue moon weekend could be a perfect few days in Grand County. With the blue moon shining on you, what a great time to experience Glow Ball Golf at Granby Ranch or an Alpenglow Zip Line Tour at Devil’s Thumb. If fact, hang around for the weekend. There will be waning moon over the skies of Hideaway Park when Leftover Salmon takes the stage at the Winter Park Sol Shine Festival on Saturday, Aug 1st from 6-9pm. Then start your Sunday off with a little yoga in Hideway Park starting at 9am.
You’ll return home rejuvenated and ready to start another work week with a smile on your face.
