I just realized we only have 45 days left this season to ski and ride at Winter Park Resort. 45 days! Even less to get your last runs in at Granby Ranch.
While it is sad to say goodbye to the winter season, I do love the events leading up to it. This year Winter Park Resort will be alive with the sound of music the entire month of April with two major concert events highlighting the resort’s annual Springtopia celebration.
The fun starts with a weekend of winter sports and electronic music during the Minus Zero Festival April 2nd and 3rd. Featuring 15 DJs, this event will be headlined on the 2nd by Diplo, fresh off of winning two Grammy Awards and Kaskade on the 3rd. Get your tickets for this fantastic event before they are gone!
After one of the biggest EDM festivals in the state, Winter Park keeps the momentum going with the Coors Light Base Bash featuring Andy Straus on April 9 and the New Belgium Music Series with Kenny Lee Young on April 16.
To end it all the resort gives you one of the most anticipated events it holds all year. This year’s free Springtopia concert will take place on Saturday, April 23 with Denver institution The Rick Lewis Project taking the stage at 12:30 before giving way to G. Love & Special Sauce at 2:00. Headliners American Authors will then cap the jam-packed afternoon of music at 4:00.
But wait… Don’t forget Winter Park Resort’s Spring Splash. The oldest tradition of its kind and on its 48th year! Spectators watch skiers and riders struggle through obstacles on the Larry Sale trail race course and attempt to skim across an icy pond to reach the finish line and post a time. Live music sets the tone for a closing day party that is fun for everyone to say goodbye to the 2015-2016 season.
Granby Ranch goes out this year with a fun filled weekend starting with a beach bash and pond skim Saturday, March 26. Events begin at 9:00 with the awards for best costume and biggest splash at 3:00. Sunday you won’t want to miss the first annual Granby Ranch Meltdown! Why not kick off the Bike Granby Ranch season on the last day of the Ski Granby Ranch season! This new and exciting event gets the adrenaline pumping for competitors and spectators alike. Hit the ice and snow to race head-to-head down Dragon Lady through rollers, jumps, bermed turns and more. A kid’s race will follow for a fun taste of summer riding in winter conditions.
